Video 4 teaching on the rise?

Is video for teaching and learning on the rise? It would seem so from the e-learning Guild's research. 92% of over a thousand teachers surveyed reported the use of video for as part of their teaching strategy. Does this mean these teachers are just linking material to existing video they found on YouTube? Surprisingly, more than 80% of the respondents created their own video content. The reason video creation is on the rise is probably due to technology advances that cut costs to a minimum.
